LOCAL BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT
Cream City
View Hours and Location
Cookeville is known for many things and this iconic Cream City Ice Cream sign is one of them! Cream City has roots back to the 1890ās under the name Consumer City where they shipped milk and other dairy products up north. Eventually, the business name was changed to Cream City. After a 1948 fire, a new building was constructed and thatās the same building standing today. The famous Cream City sign was added after the 1948 fire and has been a tourist attraction ever sinceāand was even featured in American Road Magazine as one of the top 100 neon signs in the county. Cream City ice cream didnāt become what it is today until 2011 but has been going steady ever since. Enjoy ice cream, milkshakes, malts, coffee, frappes, smoothies, and more.
