William Woolfitt at Plenty Downtown Bookshop

William Woolfitt is a Tennessee poet who teaches at Lee University. He is the author of four poetry collections, two story collections, and an essay collection. He is releasing a brand new collection of poetry in June and will be at the bookshop to read to the audience.

After Dark Movies in the Park: Wonka

Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the Dogwood Park Performance Pavillion for a showing of Wonka—rated PG. The movie will start as soon as it is dark. Concession stand will be open for snacks!
Spring Earlybird Hike

Join Ranger Hannah for an early morning guided hike along the River Trail before the park opens. You’ll learn about the history of the park and enjoy a sight that not many have seen! Bring coffee, water, and your hiking boots.

It’s Smokey the Bear’s 80th birthday! Smokey will be at the Monterey Library to help kick off the summer reading challenge and there will be cake to celebrate.
Touch-a-Truck with Ollie Otter

In a series of challenges, kiddos will adventure around the globe learning about continents, oceans, and biomes worldworld. They’ll work with other kids, read books, and work on skills like geography, maps, plants, weather, problem-solving, and more.

The Market on the Square has been a consistent presence in its location in downtown Cookeville for 20 years. A woman-owned and operated business, The Market on the Square is a gift shop and boutique that carries wedding gifts, baby registry items, gourmet kitchen supplies, jewelry, home decor, boutique clothing, and more. The owner, Marlene Massa, reinvests in local non-profits and sports teams through monetary and product donations. They pride themselves on offering exceptional customer service and offering unique items that you won’t find anywhere else. They even gift wrap and offer curbside pickup, phone sales, and in-town home delivery.
